Ingo Martin Stadtmüller

Ingo Martin Stadtmüller was born in Bretten, Baden-Württemberg, and received his first musical training at the age of six on the piano. At the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main, he first studied church music and then orchestral conducting with a focus on historical performance practice. After completing his studies, he was engaged as solo repetiteur and Kapellmeister at the Theater Bielefeld and later at the Opera Halle, Saale. There he also became principal conductor of the KammerAkademie Halle and was a regular guest conductor of the Landesjugendorchester Sachsen-Anhalt. From 2015-2018 Ingo Martin Stadtmüller was 2nd Kapellmeister and Musical Director of the "Junge Oper" at the Theater Dortmund. Here he conducted classical works of the opera and ballet repertoire as well as premieres of contemporary operas and crossover projects. The concert project "Reconstructing Debussy" with the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra was released on CD in 2017.

From the 2018/2019 season, Ingo Martin Stadtmüller was engaged as 1st Kapellmeister and Deputy General Music Director at the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater. Here he has since conducted numerous premieres and concerts, including Samuel Barber's VANESSA and Handel's XERXES.

In June 2022, he was appointed General Music Director at the Schleswig-Holstein Landestheater until 2024.

In 2023, he will make his debut at the Theater an der Wien with Erich Wolfgang Korngold's DIE STUMME SERENADE.
