Biography
Yanjia Huang received his first piano lessons when he was four. He continued his music education at the music school of the Shanghai Conservatory from 1992 till 1995. Between 2001 and 2003 he studied orchestra conducting at the Shanghai Conservatory under the leadership of Zhang Mei. During the Summer of 2002 he conducted the rehearsals for the concert celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Changchun Film Orchestra. Since 2003, Yanjia Huang has studied orchestra conducting at the „Universitaet fuer Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien“(University of Music and Performaning Arts Vienna) with Uros Lajovic. In 2004 he conducted the Youth Orchestra of Shanghai Normal University and in 2006, the Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra in China. In February 2009 Yanjia Huang conducted the Orkiestra Filharmonii Wroclawskiej in Poland. In June 2009, he participated in a master class given by Fabio Luisi. At the same time he completed his study at the „Universitaet fuer Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien“ where he was awarded the academic title „Magister der Kuenste“(MA in Arts). In his final concert, Yanjia Huang conducted the „Wiener KammerOrchester“(Vienna Chamber Orchestra). This concert was so successful that he was invited for a concert in the series "International Prizewinners" in the upcoming season. Since autumn 2009, Yanjia Huang has been the chief conductor of the Youth Orchestra of Shanghai Normal University and Chief guest conductor of Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra in China. He is very active in developing various projects with both his orchestras. In August 2010, Yanjia Huang was invited by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium in Korea Pierre Clément Dubuisson to conduct the Euro Asia Chamber Orchestra at the „Euro Asia Chamber Music Festival“ and gave three successful concerts with the Orchestra in Seoul and Goyang. 02/2011
