Biography
The mexican baritone made his debut in Europe as a laureate of the "Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg" in the role of Dapertutto in "Hoffmanns Erzählungen" by Jacques Offenbach.
Beside the Festival, he was also part of the opera gala togehter with Edita Gruberova and Klaus Florian Vogt. Martinez has been an ensemble member of the Landestheater Schleswig-Holstein for four years.Â
In addition, he has performed as a guest on stages such as Gran Teatro de la Habana in Cuba, at the Opera House in Kiel and at the Summer Festival Kittsee.
He already sang roles such as Escamillo, Germont, Sharpless, Rodrigo di Posa, Marcello, Don Giovanni, Figaro, Conte di Almaviva, Wolfram, Papageno and Conte di Luna.
Currently, Jorge Alberto Martinez Mendoza lives in Vienna, where he works with teachers like the soprano Grace Bumbry and Prof. Gerhard Kahry.Â
In summer 2019, he will sing the role of Taddeo in Rossinis Italiana in Algeri at the Kirchstetten Summer Opera Festival.
