Biography
Miki Sasakawa was born in Japan and started playing piano at the age of three. At the age of 16 she found her real passion for singing and joined her school choir.
She graduated at the Kunitachi College of Music in Japan. In Vienna she finished her bachelor degree in solo singing with Manfred Equiluz. She also finished a second master's degree with distinction in Song and Oratorio with Carolyn Hague, KS Angelika Kirchschlager and KS Birgit Steinberger at the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität. She has also taken masterclass with Daniela Fally.
She made her debut as “The Queen of the Night” (The Magic Flute) at Opernfestival at the Kurhaus
Semmering. 2015 she sang again in “The Queen of the Night”. In 2016 as “Frasquita” (Carmen),
“Musetta” (La Bohéme), “Flora and Annina” (La Traviata) in Austria. In 2017 she will perform the role
of “Musetta” in Vienna. She sang concerts in Austria and Japan as a soloist.
